OUR SPACE

We are a group of dedicated families, parents and individuals who are creating a Waldorf / Forest inspired model school on the tropical island of Koh Phangan in Thailand. We hope to bring a new impulse into the education system here. The school opened during 2021 while we were identifying the need for home schooling amidst the global pandemic.

The Naranaya school model offer a developmentally appropriate, experiential, and academically rigorous approach to education. They integrate the arts in all academic disciplines for children from preschool through twelfth grade to enhance and enrich learning. Waldorf system based education aims to inspire life-long learning in all students and to enable them to fully develop their unique capacities.

Our teachers and school management have a great deal of autonomy in determining curriculum content, teaching methodology, and governance. Qualitative assessments of student work are integrated into the daily life of the classroom, with assessment of learning playing a minimal role and standardized testing usually limited to what is required to enter post-secondary education.
